Does OSHA require aerial lift certification? The easy answer is no when it comes to aerial lifts. Currently, there are no qualifications set forth by OSHA or the manufacturers of scissor lifts for operators to be certified. According to OSHA only authorized persons that have been very well trained could operate an aerial lift.
Aerial lifts are known to fall under three different types of lifts. For the first type of lifts, you got scissor lifts. For the second type of lift, you got boom lifts. For the third type of lift, you got telehandlers. Each type of aerial lift serves different types of purposes for specific jobs and different environments.
